Stonehenge

StonehengeRegardless of the reason for the construction, the Stonehenge has been a prime tourist spot. The erection ways back to early 3000’s and it has been found it took more than thirty million hours to finish the construction of the stone henge. Still the debate on the reason behind the construction continues. Some theists believe on the holiness of the stone henge while some others speculate that this henge is an avatar of Sun God himself and pray for the good every day. Whatever be the controversy, the stone henge still continues to perplex millions who come on a tour and it still is an important place of worship. The construction is really meticulous. The stones have been erected in an orderly manner and some painted in blue and some others in chrome. The pattern is of perfect circles and horse shoe, and still not fragile any way and the travelers are taken a back with the perfection in its construction. The stone henge also is an astronomical observatory and has predicted many events that have come true many a times. Thus this civilization seems technically sound and serves to study about any older ones.

Town full of Life – Beijing

BeijingCrowned as the capital of the most populated nation in the world, Beijing truly bears a heavy history counting back to 3000 years of its prestigious past. With almost every inch of the bestowed with something interesting, Beijing does really make anyone filled with wonder and excitement the moment they enter her warm embrace of welcome with love!

The holiday season is almost over but there are a few more free days left. The Fjords – Eden On The Earth

The Pyramids – Road to Ancient Egypt

PyramidsThe Pyramids, one of the Seven Wonders of the World, is the giant man made structures located along the banks of river Nile near Giza. The Giza pyramids refer to three pyramids namely large sized Pyramids of Cheops, small sized Pyramid of Khafre and modest sized Pyramid of Menkaure. Along with the Great Pyramids, there is a Great Sphinx and a numerous smaller tombs. These pyramids are known to be the burial place of the ancient Egyptian kings or Pharaohs with all their belongings. The archaeologists are still clueless about the construction of pyramids with such a huge labor force in those ancient times. The outer walls of the pyramids are casted by the polished limestones which are brought from the southern hills through Nile River. Other than Giza Pyramids, there are also pyramids in Saqqara, Dahshur, Abusir and Abu Rawash locating on the banks of river Nile. Each pyramid is believed to contain valuable treasures and riches which are looted by the robbers during medieval ages. The Niagara Falls – Nature’s Paradise

Niagara FallsThe Niagara Falls, the world famous waterfalls, is located at border of New York State of USA and Ontario province of Canada. The large voluminous water from the falls is reliable source of hydro electricity. Geologically the Niagara River originates from the upper Great Lakes and empties itself into the Atlantic Ocean. The Niagara Falls has two major branches namely larger Horseshoe Falls of Canadian side and comparatively smaller American falls of USA’s side. There exists a river island of Luna along with Bridal Veil Falls. Due to erosion, the Horseshoe Falls have evolved from small arch shape to the giant V-shaped bend. In the upstream of the river, the Goat Island separates the American falls from Horseshoe Falls. The city of Niagara Falls is well connected with the Canadian side of Ontario through three bridges. One of them is traffic restricted Rainbow Bridge which lies very close to the falls. The other two bridges are the old Whirlpool Rapids Bridge and the new Lewiston-Queenston Bridge. The boat cruise, Maid of the Mist is the well known tourist attraction spot from old times. The Goat Island has some of the tourist sites like Three Sisters Island and Tesla statue. The Niagara city holds an international airport and is well connected with other parts of America.

The Museum of Natural History – New York

The Museum of Natural History – New YorkThough New York has thousands of exhibits to embellish its explicit existence, it is the Museum of Natural History that feathers its crown to its extreme grace! Founded by Theodore Roosevelt Sr. this Museum does have millions of wonders from the past listed in its collections that hardly leave you tired to turn you distracted away from them! Located in the upper west side of Manhattan on 79st, it stands high directly across from the Central Park. Counting back to 1877, when it was completed and opened for public viewing with its highly sophisticated neo-Romanesque style of architecture, this museum has been well known for years for it’s rare and exciting exhibits like the full-scaled blue whale (the largest living animal) that hangs from the ceiling of the Milstein Family of ocean life, it’s famous fossil collection and so on. The Hall of Human Biology does have so many credits since it has the most detailed descriptions and proofs regarding human evolution on earth with its most rarely available anatomic models of our ancestors and early primates. The 1.7 million year old Peking man and the famous Lucy Skeleton have been in the limelight over the years! With so many attractions that words can hardly express, the Museum of Natural History still stands as a diary unveiling the mysteries of the inscrutable past!
